Putting the Spotlight Back on Design-Minded Jewelers and Retailers Alike

Design of the TimesIn September 2015, the JCK Team unveiled their design strategy for 2016 and announced plans to elevate the design community. Going by the caliber of artists who are #JCKTucsonBound whether as a buyer, exhibiting designer, or participant in the events; it's clear that design is the reoccurring theme.

With so many exciting additions signing on to JCK Tucson it's hard to keep up and learn the value in these influencers coming together. The Solution? Follow along every Monday with "Design of the Times" series on the Insider blog where Jacqueline Stone spotlights two people whose commitment is to jewelry design and are coming to Tucson. This week's Design of the Times spotlights designer Todd Reed and one of JCK Tucson's hosted retailers Manika Jewelry's CEO Delphine Richagneux. If ever there were a screenplay for a tradeshow, Jacqueline is writing it for JCK Tucson (with a cup of Monday morning inspiration on the side!)

Whether you will be joining us in JCK Tucson or not, follow along every Monday to stay in the know about the Designers of our Time and the buyers who search for them as they shed light onto lessons learned, changes they wish to see in the industry, and plans for the future.

Do as the Locals Do: Sightseeing and Culture

Golf CourseThe combinations of Mexican, Native American, and Western cultures is reflected in the wide array of dining, music, and cultural activities happening in the city year-round.

JCK Tucson and Tucson Gem Weeks coincide perfectly with the 57th annual Tubac Festival of the Arts, February 10-14, 2016. The historic Arizona settlement – which dates back to 1752 – lies just 40 miles south of Tucson and a quick drive down I-91 (take exit 34). The tiny town holds some 100 galleries devoted to sculpture, painting, pottery, jewelry and more.

It's also great for shopping anytime of the year, but the five-day fair is an art lovers' paradise, amplified by typically near ideal temperatures and framed by a postcard-perfect view of the Santa Rita Mountains.
