A Busy LUXURY Privé Opens New York Jewelry Week

New York, NY (July 25, 2016) — LUXURY Privé, opened its doors at the legendary Waldorf Astoria to reveal an elevated show experience with expanded offerings. The 2016 event, known for its white glove service and intimate environment, drew in the best of the best in jewelry to kick off New York Jewelry week. Buyers were met with new and noteworthy exhibitors, in addition to a newly curated area that was home to a select group of designers with one-of-a-kind collections.

The day started as most great Sundays in New York City do, with brunch and bloodys. This iconic NYC style brunch, taking place on the show floor kicked off LUXURY Privé in style – equipped with a fully-stocked Bloody Mary bar, mimosas, and mouth-watering breakfast selections. The day's mood was set by live jazz musicians and an appreciation of the arts as Angie Crabtree began live painting demonstrations of her renowned diamond series. The day continued with strong buying, positive feedback, and jaw-dropping jewelry.

The Salon Floor was energized with excitement that centered on the new offerings 2016 brought to fruition. Andreoli, Beverly K., Doves by Doron Paloma, Gabriel & Co., Marcel Robbez Masson, and Peter Storm proved to be impactful additions to the already impressive exhibitor list. Dave Boeckel, CEO of William Henry, a first time exhibitor showing his luxury men's collection boasted with excitement about day one, "This is our first LUXURY Privé and we are very pleased. There is a very nice flow of existing customers and new prospects and we are having high quality interactions that are not rushed or pressured. The size of the show, the quality of the attendees, and the overall environment make this an excellent show for both exhibitors and retailers."

The new curated designer area is home to 11 talented and unique designers presenting their respective narratives through one-of-a-kind collections. These designers include: AeroDiamonds, Allure, Avigdor, Giovanni Raspini, GoldHenn, GM Ideal, Judi Powers, KC Designs, Ron Hami, MarahLago, and Miiori. The product mix of high-end, fine jewelry mixed with unique design has resulted in crowded aisles and countless orders.

Returning exhibitors have high praise for this year's event as well.

Alan Esserman from Roman + Jules by First Image Design stated, "Day one was a huge success with back-to-back prosperous meetings! There is a great variety of qualified buyers and the response to our collection has been terrific. We met with multi-store chains from the east and west coast and were also introduced to two independent family owned businesses that were both a good match. Couldn't have asked for a better first day and we've already signed on to exhibit again next year!"

"LUXURY Privé pulled out all the stops today, the overall experience is top-notch and it's an ideal environment for buyers and exhibitors alike to conduct business in," said Jeff Lootz of Henri Daussi. "The day kicked off with a great Bloody Mary bar, gourmet breakfast options and live music on the show floor –it really set the tone for the day, the energy has been high all day. We wrote orders with existing and new clients and the day concluded on a high note with a cocktail hour that everyone takes advantage of."

Day one wrapped in festive fashion with cocktails and snacks on the salon floor and an announcement of the day's merchandise credit raffle. The evening continued with a celebratory networking happy hour reception at the Waldorf's highly regarded Bull & Bear.

LUXURY Privé continues at the Waldorf through Tuesday, July 26th with more special events on the line-up including a Scotch and Bourbon tasting on the salon floor this afternoon, a merchandise credit drawing worth $2,500 and a Tuesday morning keynote delivered by JCK Magazine News Director, Rob Bates, on Millennials and the State of the Industry which will be followed by Bellinis on the show floor.
