Aquamarine Is Always The Answer
Aquamarine is a welcome sight come March, like a picture-perfect blue sky that provides the backdrop for a sunny spring day.
Though that may not be the reason aquamarine became this month’s birthstone, the image doesn’t hurt. Named after seawater, the gem brings to mind gorgeous weather and picture-perfect locales.
While those born in March might have a personal connection to the gem, a vast ocean of admirers demands it, both for everyday and wedding jewelry purposes. Thought to enhance the happiness of a marriage, aquamarine is not an uncommon sight in an engagement ring—either as an accent stone or the centerpiece—as well as in wedding bands for all genders.
We love it in all sizes and shapes. From the big, quenching, icy cocktail rings to tiny studs that provide just a touch of beautiful blue—you can’t go wrong with any sort of aquamarine. It’s irresistible in cabochon form and just as fetching with facets.
Does aquamarine possess special powers? The answer depends on what one believes about the spiritual elements of gemstones. Some do think that aquamarine can be used to help calm anxieties, and alleviate respiratory issues and allergies (which is convenient since March tends to go hand-in-hand with seasonal irritants!). But no one can deny aquamarine’s calming presence. A pale blue of both the sea and sky, it invokes clarity, tranquility.
One could, of course, simply love aquamarine for its clear, obvious beauty, exemplified by these latest jewels from our brands at JCK.
