True Blue (And More Colors, Too): Sapphires for September and Beyond

Sapphire is indeed the birthstone of September, but the precious gem is truly for everyone.

While available in a stunning array of colors, it’s most noted for its universally beloved shade of blue, one even a jewelry novice would recognize. The versatility of this irresistible blue is what makes it a store staple in every category—from a pair of show-stopping earrings to a birthstone pendant; an Art Deco engagement ring to a modern wedding band.

Rarer though not entirely absent from the display cases, other shades of sapphire such as orange, yellow, or pink make for stunning designs, allowing jewelers to create rainbow styles, mimic a sunset, and create whimsical pieces shaped like animals and flowers.
