We have hit peak bow. A whimsical, ultra feminine, romantic accessory, the bow has kept us captivated for centuries, versions from the Georgian and Victorian eras marking iconic styles we now collect as antique treasures.

Today, thanks to TikTok fueled trends (the coquette aesthetic, so hot right now), and the yearning for nostalgia that plays well with modern style means the bow is the ideal accessory to pull that off. It’s very sweet but can also be seductive, and in jewelry, it’s like a finishing touch that won’t ever fade or come undone.

We are currently in the midst of bow mania, but around Valentine’s Day, bows tend to experience an annual lift in demand—often, paired with hearts. Hearts tied with bows, bows tied in the shape of a heart, bows decorated with hearts—you get the picture. So this year, while consumers clamor for their Valentine’s Day hearts to wear or gift, why not adorn your displays with bows, too? The pairing is a natural fit, but a smattering of bows acknowledges the ongoing trend and gives the annual Valentines aesthetic a facelift of sorts.
