Be Press Ready
Media connects to brands in a different way than retailers do and will be looking for content, trends and insider news that appeals to their target audience. Be prepared to speak about your brand, genuinely and articulately, as it relates to current trends and highlights your points of differentiation. Be prepared to answer questions on the materials used, inspirations, and brand history. Use the time to present your newest designs and/or collections and showcase any other items that they may be interested in for coverage.
Offer a Takeaway
Whether it is a small piece of jewelry or a branded gift, a physical item will serve as a reminder of your brand.
Make Yourself “Instagrammable”
Influencers and editors are constantly seeking content and capturing their experiences in real-time. Have your social media handles and hashtags ready on printed tent cards and offer a clean space at your booth with a small light ring that allows for optimum photo snapping.
Reach Out to Press
JCK has confirmed press attending the show from print, digital, online, consumer, trade and news media outlets, in addition to digital influencers and style tastemakers. As with previous years, there may be editors that cannot be present, but would like to be updated on the newest collections and company needs. In your outreach make sure to include your booth number, neighborhood, location, and a few sentences about your company. A visual of a new product or a link to a lookbook or images are also very helpful.
The JCK registered media list will be available beginning May 1 and will be updated weekly. Please note the list will only have names of the companies and attendees, it will not contain contact info due to privacy restrictions. For a copy of the list, please contact Jen Cullen Williams at [email protected].
Drop Your Press Materials in the JCK Press Lounge
Be prepared to drop your press kits, lookbooks and other marketing materials off in the JCK Press Lounge. Exact location to be shared a few weeks before the show.
*Branded USB memory sticks with marketing materials are also an option.
Follow THEM on Social!
If you are truly interested in maintaining an ongoing relationship with an influencer or editor, reciprocate support. Follow their social media pages and read their posts and stories. Always, follow up, be responsive and thank them for editorial and media opportunities.
Stay Informed and Connected
JCK’s Event Schedule boasts over 50 events, from networking to education, including the JCK Talks series, which offers the opportunity for peer-to-peer discussions and learning opportunities.
