Why JIS Fall Pairs Perfectly with the JCK Show
An exhibitor and a retailer share what made this year’s event stand out—and what it means for the season ahead.
The 2025 JIS Fall show in Miami Beach concluded on October 13, playing host to over 10,000 retailers, manufactures, and other members of the jewelry industry.
While reports from the floor of the event illustrate high buyer engagement and excitement over the show’s features—including a brand-new accessories and gifts pavilion—we wanted to get the nitty gritty details from two attendees with differing perspectives: Stuller, an exhibitor based in Lafayette, LA; and Suka Jewelry, a retailer from Glen Rock, NJ.
Get both points of view on key show takeaways, trends spotted, as well as some of the issues most concerning to the industry (tariffs, gold price) as we go into the holiday season. For designer Supriya Kapur of Suka Jewelry, the timing of the show helps with the upcoming holiday rush. And for Jacob Dupuis, senior director of sales for Stuller, meeting retailers from all over the country and international buyers means more opportunity.
Read on to see what they had to say.

What were some of the most memorable highlights of the show?
Meeting past GIA students that I taught at the NY campus and running into trade contacts that I hadn’t seen in a while.
How would you compare the vibe of this show to JCK?
The vibe of the Miami show was very friendly. While some businesses had order minimums, most were open to getting your account and starting a relationship. There was definitely a cloud of uncertainty—among jewelers from India especially—who weren’t sure about how long the high tariff situation would last and whether it would come down to a reasonable amount. Most said 25-50% was unsustainable and was hurting the manufacturers.
Does the timing of JIS help your business during the holiday season?
Having the show in the second week of October is ideal in my opinion. It gives retailers ample time to order and purchase before the holiday season kicks into full swing.
Did you notice any new or surprising trends while perusing the show floor?
With the price of gold being so high, we saw a lot of gold vermeil and brass jewelry being sold at the show. At the 14k gold booths the focus was on lightweight and hollow jewelry. The other noticeable thing was the sea of lab-grown diamond businesses and jewelry manufacturers.
What kinds of styles did you come away with?
We mostly focused on lightweight gold pieces and delicate diamond jewelry that can be stacked and worn daily. Chain earrings, studs, and lightweight bangles were the highlight of our trip.
What do you anticipate being popular among consumers for the holidays?
Anything in yellow—whether that be gold vermeil, gold-filled, brass, or lightweight 14k gold.
Consumers are going to focus on the overall look of the piece rather than the actual metal it’s made in. They want more bang for their buck and to still look fashionable.
Exhibitor: Jacob Dupuis of Stuller, Lafayette, LA
What was the crowd like at the show? Did you meet any retailers from new locations for your brand?
It was great to connect with attendees throughout the day. Overall, the show attracted a strong mix of retailers, including a notable presence from Southeast Florida and some from Central Florida. The event also draws a significant international customer base, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with both manufacturers and retailers who don’t often attend other shows.
What categories of jewelry or trends do you feel attendees were most likely to place orders for?
Customers showed strong interest in our diamond screeners and XRF metal detectors, particularly given the ongoing discussions around lab-grown diamonds and current gold prices.
What do you think will be a retailer's biggest obstacle this holiday season? Did you learn anything about these concerns when talking with retailers at JIS?
Uncertainty around gold prices is clearly influencing retailers’ purchasing decisions this holiday season. Additionally, tariff impacts have customers shifting towards domestic manufacturing, seeking to minimize cost increases wherever possible to maintain competitive retail prices.
Anything else you'd like readers to know about your experience at the show?
The overall location and setting of the show is fantastic, as it offers an attractive location for retailers and manufacturers to simultaneously visit, explore, and shop. We opened several new accounts from around the world and look forward to future events.
