Your Holiday Store: How Paris Jewellers Plans to Ring in the Season

Paris Jewellers, headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is a 36-year-old business that started as one humble repair shop. Today, the family-run business operates 23 locations across four Canadian provinces, in addition to their bustling online presence.

Who better, then, to kick off the holiday season with a look at how their business plans to navigate the busiest shopping months of the year? Here, director of operations and co-owner Chau Lui talks with JCK about store events and initiatives, decorations, and the best-selling jewels of the season.

Do you have any events planned for the holiday season this year?
We are truly so excited for the holiday season! We’ve thoughtfully planned our events in advance based on our customers' feedback and buying preferences. There are special jewelry pieces and savings during Black Friday for our customers, so keep an eye out for that. Our holiday gift guide launches on November 4 which features the latest trends and our best-selling items, perfect for those holiday gifts. We have also thought about the self-purchaser this season.

We are proud to share that a portion of all sales from our holiday gift guide will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation Canada. This is an incredible foundation that helps grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are honored to support this foundation.

What do you anticipate will be the biggest sellers this year? What have you stocked up on in advance of the busy shopping season?
We plan in advance to ensure we have enough product for our customers. We know that fine jewelry is going to continue to be strong this season. Our solid gold everyday pieces are timeless classics that our customers love, so we've loaded up on those.

How are you planning to advertise this year? Are you running any special promotions or sales?
We've got the word spreading through all kinds of channels—digital, direct mail, podcasts, sponsorships, and some exciting events. We want everyone to know about the holiday sparkle coming their way.
